COVID-19 Virus, Day 118

Quick updates that were on facebook so this is really for Jason. :)

The Fam and I watched them pour the cement for the road in front of our house this morning, including the cat and the dog.
Took only a few mins, they are really quick. Now we wait while it cures. #COVIDentertainment

Eye doc today. My far away vision is the same but my reading vision is worse, so they had to change my bifocal contacts outer ring from a low to a medium. Whats cool is they gave me 3 pair of the new Rx so I have a couple weeks to buy contacts.
oh can now I can read the computer / phone / books again without my readers yay!

So I went to kroger. I actually went inside to get that last order that I couldn't cancel. 
Background - Total fiasco using their Kroger Pickup  - waited 3 1/2 hours only to get the wrong order on Saturday, had to donate the food since they cant take it back, which took a couple days to locate a recipient. Order #2 to get what I couldnt get on Saturday -  Tuesday order couldnt get through to them on the phone, drove out to see cars lined up wrapped around the building. Couldnt even cancel the order. I'm done with Kroger pickup!
 At this point tuesday order will self cancel so I 'm not worried.

Back to going inside today to get tuesdays order myself. I have to say, everyone had a mask on. But now they are having trouble looking down at their feet. It's one way traffic and yet we have a lot of people going the wrong way. The ones without carts who dont want to walk aroudn the aisle to get where they need to go seem to be the culprits.
Sigh, more training needed I guess.
I'll advise you not to use self checkout though. Because everyone does and 90% of them need assistance anyway. The lady working the self checkout was frazzled! And people are impatient.
Breathe folks, we are all in this together.
oh and the phone lines mustve been LIT UP because every call was for customer service or clicklist. People are STILL having issues today. What a mess.

Before breakfast, I punched down the sourdough that was now more than doubled. Then I pushed it into a wide flat shape and rolled it up, tucking it into a loaf pan. I let it sit until after the lunch time baking was done. For lunch we made khachapuri. This was my friend's recipe I mentioned earlier. Since my stand mixer was in the dishwasher I used the breadmaker to mix the dough. When it was ready I asked if the kids wanted one of the dough balls to make their own. Here is what each of us did. Day 10: 40 Days of Lent: Cookie Brownies and Double Chocolate muffins!

Chocolate is my addiction, I must admit. Especially when it's warm. I think about it, dream about it, bake it, make candy with it, eat it after lunch or dinner nearly every day. So when i think about birthday cakes or even the charity I bake for, I'm always looking to make chocolate-something. Or when its Saturday and I have some time on my hands. I think about it then too. :) This week, I had been cruising around the internet, and my sister in law mentioned that it was time for Chocolate muffins. I agreed. I felt tired and turned off the computer. Then, my mind started ticking away. I had recipes, lots of them. I would bet among all those recipes I had a recipe for Chocolate muffins. Hmm. Writing a cookbook and Coffee Cake

I'm starting another project. I know what you're going to say, she never finishes any of these! Yeah, you are right about that. Except for sometimes, when things really seem to pan out, I end up finishing them. I can't explain why some things do and some don't. My brain is always full of ideas, and usually a new one seems better than the one I'm bogged down in, so I switch to the better idea. Maybe i'm just fickle? What makes the cookbook project special you might ask? Besides the fact that considering how to write a cookbook is overwhelmingly huge, given all the ideas I have around it, one of the appeals is that i have to try out and perfect every recipe. There are 120 of them just for dinners. I have a feeling that's going to take a while. And I get to try them all. That sounds exciting and sort of science-projecty. What makes me think I won't wander off to something else? Food is all encompassing in my life. I always come back around to it.  If
