Cookie Kits
One of the things that makes it possible to make half a dozen types of cookies every week is to have kits built ahead of time. It saves you time because if you make each cookie as you go, you have to pull out all the ingredients, find the measuring spoons and cups, open all the ingredients, scoop them into the bowl, and then put it all back. If you only do those things one time, while you're building kits, you save actual hours as you go!
How I built the kits:
First pick a recipe that you want to make all the time and want kits built. This is a recipe kit that you'll probably use within a week or two. It could be pancakes, it can be adjusted for anything.
Next separate wet ingredients from dry on the recipe:

Next separate wet ingredients from dry on the recipe:
Dry ingredients are typically:
- Flour
- White sugar
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Corn starch
- Salt
- Cocoa powder
- Raisins
- Coconut
- Nuts
Wet ingredients are typically:
- Butter
- Brown sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla
- Milk
And then there are the add ins. If you add them in to the dry ingredients and the butter is softened to too warm of a temperature it will melt the chocolate chips. I add them last:
- Chocolate Chips
- Chocolate Chunks
- Dried Cranberries
- White Chocolate Chips
Next you need to pick up enough 8 cup food containers.
Label the short sides (2 and 4) with a small white label. Label the long sides with post it notes, taped like this:
Side 1 has the Mix Ingredients, to build the kit.
Side 2 and 4 has the name of the cookie.
Side 3 has the Wet Ingredients to add when making it.
The top has the oven temp, size of cookie dough scoop, and mins to cook.
To use the kit, first soften butter and add brown sugar.
Mix
Add eggs, vanilla, other ingredients.
Then mix in the dry ingredients, 1/2 at a time and mix.
Once incorporated, add the Add ins like chocolate chips.
Follow the directions on the top of the box to scoop onto a parchment lined baking sheet, and bake for the instructed time.
Let each batch cool 10 mins.
Enjoy!
Great idea !
